It doesn’t matter how many plaid flannel shirts I have…..I always want another one every year. Rounding up my favorite retailers to buy a plaid flannel and all of the best plaid flannel shirts for women! These are my go to stores and websites I check every year.
In addition, there seems to be a new trend this year, the SHACKET. And man am I obsessed. I’ll probably do another dedicated post just for the shacket, but for now I’ve included a section below. H&M, Abercrombie, BB Dakota, Nordstrom and surprisingly SheIn have the best shackets I’ve found. What’s a shacket? Exactly what it sounds like a a shirt and a jacket combined perfect to wear as an outerwear layer year round (but especially fall).
Okay, back to the best plaid flannel shirts for women list!
Best Plaid Flannel Shirts for Women
Rails is the flannel I am wearing in the feature photo. One of my go to brands because they are 1) high quality 2) the perfect lightweight material. Unlike traditional flannel, these are more lightweight and feel super soft on your skin. You won’t get overheated in this material! I never buy full price – I always snag one on sale at Nordstrom or Off Saks Fifth Avenue.
Abercrombie & Fitch
Abercrombie has been making my favorite list in every category – bodysuits, jeans, and now flannels. They are more of the traditional flannel material but still more lightweight. These are more tight fitting but they did come out with a boyfriend fit this year for something a little baggier! Overall some of my favorite plaid prints. And I’m obsessed with their Shacket – 100% ordering this one!
Old Navy is the best affordable brand – in general Old Navy has some STEALS and DEALS and their flannels are another great quality item! I would say they are a little thicker than Abercrombie. Full price they are $30 – but Old Navy is always running a sale 30% – 50% off so you can usually get them closer to $15 – $20!
If you’re more into the muted tones, Madewell is your spot for flannels. Or if oversized is your thing – Madewell has the most options and can easily be made into the Shacket trend. They also have solid flannels with textures like corduroy!
A flannel classic, especially if you’re into the tartan plaid or Christmas festive plaid prints.
Literally want to write the same exact sentence as above, but a more affordable price. I really don’t see a quality difference in the flannels, it’s more of price and pattern preference.
Target doesn’t have a ton, but the ones they have are cute and only $20!
Not specifically a brand, but can potentially be a gold mine for Madewell, Rails, and Beach Lunch Lounge. Beach Lunch Lounge has a fabric that’s more lightweight and reminds me of the Rails fabric – the most comparable for sure.
All about SHACKETS
Let’s transition to Shackets!! These are all going to be oversized flannels or thicker flannels that are more of a jacket style. I’ve found the best Shackets at H&M, Abercrombie, BB Dakota, Nordstrom, and surprisingly SHEIN. Shop below!
