Gingham is the perfect print for every outdoor summer
activity, especially when it’s strawberry season in Tennessee! There’s nothing
juicier or healthier than fruit straight from the source; and they were perfectly ripe at Batey Farms in Murfreesboro, right outside Nashville. There’s so much to do
with strawberries – jam, strawberry rhubarb pie, strawberry shortcake, or eat
them alone!
Gingham never gets old or goes out of style. Big checks, small
checks, blue, pink, yellow, you name it! I absolutely love this crop top
version with a front tie! It’s only $36 too! Pairs well with jean shorts or a
jean skirt – white, light denim, or a darker wash. The white denim skirt wasn’t
ideal for strawberry picking, so I went with the go-to high waisted denim jean
shorts from Articles of Society, at a reasonable price of $50. Shop this entire outfit at the bottom of the post!
I accessorized with a Free People handkerchief scrunchie – a
perfect addition for a hot summer day to keep your hair up.
Wearing white shoes to a farm probably wasn’t the smartest
decision, but hey it’s kind of all about the outfit. I love these lace platform
Keds that are different from the typical white Converse. They are Keds
Orthopedic – and SO soft & squishy on the insides. To all my short girls –
the 1 – 2 inch platform gives an extra height boost without having a wear a
heel!
Picking fresh fruit is fun for the whole fam or girls day
out – find your nearest local farm and pick your own before the season ends!
Strawberries end mid – June for Tennessee, but blueberry and blackberry season
is trailing close behind. If you can’t make it to a farm, I recommend buying
produce from the farmer’s market for the most flavorful fruit.
