Falling Victim to Tech Neck: Reducing the Pain with CBDMEDIC

This post is sponsored by CBDMEDIC but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Anyone else remember the days of wearing backpacks multiple hours a day walking to class? Or maybe you’re like me, and still use a backpack to carry all 30 extra pounds that didn’t fit in your checked bag through the airport.

Back in May, it was one of those times I drudged a heavy backpack around throughout the airport. Topped with falling asleep in an awkward position on the plane, I somehow completely locked out my neck and upper back.

Ross had been trying to get me to go to the chiropractor for months, any time I complain my back or my neck was sore. This time, it was finally bad enough for me to go see what the chiropractor was all about.

Reality Check: X Rays from my Chiropractor

Let me tell you – my X-Ray results were SHOCKING. A normal cervical spine is shaped like a C, with your neck curving a little backward to support your head. My cervical spine was completely curved forward, 4.11 degrees, making my neck do all the heavy lifting to support my head. 4.11 degrees forward may not sound like much, but in reality, it’s making my ~10 pound head feel like 60 pounds!  My chiropractor recommended a pain management and correction plan, and I’ve now incorporated chiropractic care into my weekly routine.

It was a blessing in disguise that I finally tweaked my neck badly enough to go see a chiropractor. It opened my eyes discovering I had a textbook case for tech neck, and I needed to course correct ASAP.

Most of the millennial generation is falling victim to the tech neck epidemic as well, not just me. From the moment we wake up to the moment we sink into the couch at night to relax – we are constantly looking at our phone screens. We also have the computers at work to stare at (probably not eye level) all day. Especially as a blogger, I constantly have my head buried in my phone. Just for fun, I pulled today’s screen time – 8 hours and 14 minutes!!!

Pain Relief in Addition to Chiropractic Care: CBDMEDIC

In addition to my chiropractic care, I’ve been needing something more to help with the constant soreness of my neck from looking down at a screen all day. As much as I try to hold my phone eye level, my forearms get tired!

I found an amazing topical medication, CBDMedic from CVS Pharmacy (click link for store locator) to help with my back and neck pain from constantly staring at screens all day! Typically, you see CBD in other forms – oil, gummies, etc. CBDMEDIC is the first brand of topical CBD medications that combine effective, safe pain relief ingredients like menthol and camphor with hemp oil or extracts. CBDMEDIC is THC free and developed with 15 years of pharmaceutical experience.

CBDMEDIC makes a variety of topical ointments with tailored formulas to your pain needs. With my current back and neck pain, I use ointment that specifically targets Back and Neck Pain Relief.  Other lines for pain relief include arthritis, active sport (roll on), muscle and joint (spray), foot pain, and massage therapy.

If I’m having muscle soreness around my shoulders, I’ll apply the ointment. The texture is similar to Vaseline and also moisturizing.  Back and Neck Pain Relief has 15% Menthol and 10% camphor, which is a pain relieving and swelling reduction compound extracted from the bark of Asian evergreen trees. It produces more of a numbing effect for temporary relief.

CBDMEDIC is something I apply now every day before I start working at my computer to help with pain relief. The refreshing menthol and calming Eucalyptus and Hemp Oil help jumpstart my day and serve as a healthy reminder to sit up straighter and roll my shoulders back.

I know absolutely nothing about CBD products, but would this show up in work drug testing? I’m curious if it would be safe for one of my family members to use who has this exact same problem, but he can’t risk anything abnormal in his workplace’s random drug tests… Thank you so much for this post and for answering!
