Everyday Jewelry Picks from a Philanthropic Brand: ABLE

You know how you just know brands and businesses that started in your city? Examples: Shinola is Detroit, Kendra Scott is Austin, Under Armor is Baltimore. There’s something prideful about supporting a business that’s tied to your roots, and you feel good about shopping there.

Moving to Nashville, I discovered the local brand ABLE – a lifestyle brand offering leather goods, handmade jewelry, denim, clothing, and shoes. All of the items are handmade by WOMEN – either in Nashville, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Peru. Keep scrolling to read more about the brand’s mission and my affordable (less than $50!) jewelry picks!

As I stated earlier, the brand’s mission is even better than the clothes – they are “focused on ending generational poverty through providing economic opportunity for women.” The brand began with the CEO’s trip to Ethiopia, seeing firsthand how young women were forced into prostitution as a means of supporting themselves and their families.

The brand has evolved since it started in 2010, expanding their product lines and women they support in various countries. Just last month, they were the first fashion company to publish wages of their workers. Not just the average wage, but even the lowest wage. ABLE is proud to be transparent and showcase they are committed to paying women accordingly to the cost of living in that particular country. You can view the wages here for Nashville, with Ethiopia, Mexico, and Peru coming by the end of the year.

Who else wants to support such an amazing mission? You can easily by purchasing their handmade, quality products! I absolutely love the leather and footwear line, however they are a little pricey, but the quality is worth it. The good news is – the jewelry line is affordable for anyone, with most pieces $20 – $50!

Delicate, dainty, and simplistic designs that match every outfit are available at ABLE in both14k gold plated and sterling silver. I stack two necklaces to wear daily; a tiny single “diamond” choker with a triangle necklace. Because everything is better in three’s, I add a circle necklace with a longer gold bar chain. This design is so unique and can totally be worn on it’s own without the other two necklaces!

I also picked up a pair of statement gold earrings in a matte brass tone. They are so lightweight they don’t even feel like your wearing anything, and affordable at $38.

A few other necklaces I loved are the dangle star choker and monogram circle. Shop the exact jewelry below, and a few other favorites. I highly recommend exploring more of their website at livefashionable.com – I will definitely continue to purchase from this brand!

P.S. – this is in no way sponsored and completely my own opinion J
