There are so many new jean styles with frayed and raw hems – which pose a problem for petite girls who normally have to get jeans hemmed. The hem is the unique part, and it’s impossible to shorten them without ruining the look. You have to buy them in the correct length in order for the style to work.
Enter my quest to find the perfect frayed hem jeans, which actually hit at the ankle on a 5’2 frame. I loved all the pairs I found, but 1 pair was short enough to leave as is. The other denim I had to cuff, which changed the look of the raw hem to a cuffed jean style. If you’re taller, these jeans will work for you for a raw hem!
After about 5 jean orders from the #Nsale, these Joe’s Icona Frayed Ankle Skinny Jeans finally fit the bill. They were EXACTLY what I was looking for. The thick frayed hem with a diagonal hemline hit perfectly on the ankle. It was probably a few inches longer than the intention (supposed to hit ABOVE ankle), however, it at the perfect point below the ankle where no cuffing was necessary. The color is a neutral light denim, mid-rise, and a little stretch.
I linked the exact same below, along with the same style in cheaper prices from Nordstrom Rack! I can’t guarantee they fit the same, as I think it’s really the diagonal hem that’s key to solving the length issue for us shorter girls.
If you’re taller and don’t need to worry about the hem issue – these were my other favorite pairs from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! They didn’t fit in length on me, but worked when I cuffed them.
