Red, White & Blue with J.Crew

Nautical Outfits for the 4th of July

My style is a little mix of everything. I enjoy adapting it to the occasion, location, and activity. For my trip to the East Coast, I chose to wear more of a preppy, coastal style. It turns out, the nautical theme is perfect for the 4th of July!

When I think of classic blue & white patterns, J,Crew jumps into my head first. They’re always fully stocked with variations of navy and white– dresses, tanks, blouses, and chunky knit sweaters.Stripes & gingham are fluent in every collection, every season.

Now there are two ways to achieve this classic, preppy look: J.Crew & J.Crew Factory. J.Crew has superior quality, but for staple items, J.Crew Factory fits the bill and saves you money. My recommendation is purchasing basic tees, skirts, and shorts from J.Crew Factory because the quality different is slim.  If you’re looking for more unique pieces such as design enhancements, better hardware, or thicker materials, J.Crew is where you’ll find the sophisticated touch.

So am I wearing J.Crew or J.Crew Factory? Can you tell?

See the answer past all the pictures, and shop the updated looks for 2019 below!!

The sweater is J.Crew, and the shorts are J.Crew Factory. I can’t recommend the shorts enough – in ANY color! They are the 3.5 inch Boardwalk shorts, with a mid-rise elastic waist that’s just as comfortable as gym shorts, with pockets.

This bright poppy color makes them perfect to pair with a signature navy and white top from J.Crew. I paired them two ways , with a sweater for cooler nights and a short sleeve top for warmer days. Right now, these shorts are less than $30!  J.Crew Factory is always running sales, and the current one is Buy One, Get one FREE with the code SHORTS. Hurry and order yours before they sell out!
